Video Game classics #2

This past week i have been struggling to pick a game and i have narrowed it down to three, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, and Resident Evil. So i have decided to draw from a hat and choose one. So the game i drew was Pokemon and thats the game i am going to review this week. Pokemon is one of the most played games around the world and has one of the largest fan basis's. Pokemon also has a weekly television show and several movies. The game, when it first came out was a great game, no one had seen anything like it and it was very possible to get lost in the game and also in your own little world. The games graphics were ok and has since become better. The game was also a big hit because it gave you options, by which i mean the pokemon. You got to have 6 pokemon that was all but you got to choose which ones and the battle system was great and has since not changed much. The battle system revolutionized the pokemon franchise, there were also very few flaws and glitches, which always makes for a great game. The tv show helped people get into the game and the game helped people get into the tv show. At school today there are more and more kids bringing the original pokemon to play saying that even though the new ones are cool, they don't get into the new ones as much as the original. They say that the original game is old-school and old-school is cool. You really can't argue with them, the game is old-school and there is nothing like playing a good-old game of pokemon by yourself or with a friend. I give this game a solid 10 out of 10.

Dragonball:Evolution.... Are You Kidding!

Yes, you might or not might know by now but there is a Dragonball movie hitting theaters this year, and it is called Dragonball:Evolution. Now i don't want to rune anything for you but the trailer looks appsolutly terible. There is no need to do a live action DB(Dragonball) movie especially if you can't get the all the characters and the story straight, and why ,tell me why ,if it is a Dragonball movie why is everybody grown ups. The original DB manga and cartoon they are little kids, tell me i'm not mistaken but i thought that they weren't grown ups tell the DBZ (Dragonball Z) seires. I really can't even take myself to watch the trailer more than once because there were so many things wrong with it. The least they could have done was animate it. The only other question i have about the movie is this...What Happened To All The Characters? In the trailer they only recognize Goku, Bulma, Piccalo, and Roshi..........Where in the world is Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and so on and so-forth. Every character in DB and DBZ is important and not only does it bring more to the story but it also adds personality and sense of place. That is one of the reasons why i think they should have just left DB as a cartoon/manga instead of a live-action film, i probably would be more inclined to watch if it was a animated movie and kept to the story but i must say that i think this movie was a big mistake on there part. Even though the trailer was bad i will probably go see it anyway because i would like to see not only what else they messed up but also what the got right. Even though i think they could have done a better job i think that it was a pretty bold move on there part. The Movie will come out no matter what you or me think about it or its contents so until then all i have to say is Dragonball:Evolution.........Are you kidding!

Video Game classics!

Once a week i would like to review a classic video game, not necessasarly a popular one or fan favorite but not a game that really sucked either. So this week i am going to review the Super Mario World for SNES (Super Nintendo). This game i think really revolutionized the gameing world with amazing grapics for its time but it also launched a set of characters into super stardom and into our hearts forever. Mario and Luigi are not the only ones we have come to love but in some aspects you have to love Bowser and his group of baddies because without him the would be no one for the brothers to save or beat the snout out of time and time again. Princess Peach was never really seen that much because she was always captured some way or another by Bowser, but after a while you started to feel bad for her too because the princess spent more time in Bowsers dungon then actually being a princess. So to the actual game review. Like i said before the games graphics were ahead of its time and there were little if any flaws with the game. Unlike some games now Super Mario World actually posed a threat (in some levels) while others were so easy that it wasn't even funny. The replay factor was high and the music was repetitive but entertaining/tolerable because most of the time you were more focused on the level than with the games music. On a scale of 1 to 10 i would have to give this game a solid 9.5.

Scifi Movies comming in 09

This year we have alot of great movies comming out in 2009 and i am just going to name a few. Here it goes...... coming out this year is the Astro Boy starring Bill Nye, Where the wild things are - based on the popular childrens book, and Ice Age 3:Dawn of the Dinosaurs (finally we get to spend more time with Sid). Also coming out this year is Monsters vs. Aliens this is Dreamworks first stab at 3D, Transformers:Revenge of the fallen, Night at the Museum 2: Battle at the Smithsonian and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Even with the controversy over rights Watchman is still planning to make its way into thearters March 6. The follow-up to the Davinci Code, The movie Angles and Demons is directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks and it is also coming out this year. Other than the movie Watchman (which is right now the most anticipated movie of the year), The movie the is slowly getting more and more attention and is easly the second most anticipated movie of the year and could in all honesty rival and if not beat Watchman in sales is the movie Star Trek which is coming out this year. The sequal to Twilight, The movie New Moon is said to be coming out this year, and also the movie 2012 will be out this year. With all these sequals coming out this year, i offically name this box office year, The Year of the Sequals or Threequal depending on if your talking about Ice Age 3 or not.

A History changing night!

Last night was a history changing night in the WWE. At the WWE pay-per view No Way Out last night, WWE champion Edge defended his title in a 6-man elimination chamber match, his opponents were Triple H, Big Show, Undertaker, Valdimir K (i think its spelled Koslov but if its not i'm sorry), Jeff Hardy, and Edge. The winner of that match was Triple H, which makes this his 13th title victory. Then later on that night Shane McMahon took on Randy Orton in a NO DQ (NO Disqualificaton) match, Shane put up a pretty good fight but ended up losing to an RKO(finishing move) by Randy.
Even Later on that night there was a second elimination chamber match for the WWE World Heavyweight heavyweight championship held by John Cena. John's opponents were Kofi Kingston, Chris Jerico, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Mike Knox and John Cena, but before the match Edge ambushed Kofi from behind and placed himself in the match instead of the injured Kofi. Sadly Edge came out on top and he won the World Heavyweight Championship. Now with only 6 weeks left till the biggest night in sports entertainment WWE's 25th aniversery of Wrestlemania in Texas things could only get better because both of the most valuable titles now belong to Smackdown.
The most intesting match of the night (or at least the match that i thought was interesting/exciting) was the match between Shawn Micheals and JBL (John ''Bradshaw'' Layfield). A few weeks before this match (we knew was comming) even was placed in a ''card slot'' for the pay-per view Shawn fell on some hard financhial times and JBL was there to employ him. JBL's said to Shawn ,that if Shawn got him to the main event match at Wrestlemaina then Shawn would never have to worry about money again. At the Royal Rumble in the main event match JBL would fight John Cean for the World Heavyweight Championship and JBL said that Shawns only function was to do anything and everything in his power to make sure JBL wins the title and then head the main event a Wreastlemaina and even though Shawn did everything in his power to make sure JBL won, JBL lost. He would not go to Wrestlemaina this time around, and over the next few weeks on Monday Night Raw JBL's dream just kept getting slimmer and slimmer. JBL finally got fed up with Shawns incompatince (even though it was mostly JBL's fault that Shawn lost and most of the time JBL never lifted a finger and made Shawn do everything), anyway JBL said to Shawn that at No Way Out he wanted to fight Shawn in an All or Nothing Match. If Shawn won he would be realesed from JBL's employment and he would get all the money he was promised in the contract, but if JBL won he would own Shawn for the rest of his life and not only Shawn himself but he would own Shawns name. Shawn agreed to the match and at No Way Out, with the help of a slap in the face from Shawns wife to JBL, Shawn pulled out the victory with some Sweet Chin Music (finishing Move).
WWE's No Way Out was no doubt a history changing night and with no doubt in 6 weeks at Westlemaina history will surly change once again.

Blogging

Blogging i think, for me anyway, is the best way for me to get what i feel about certain topics. To me typing my thoughts and feelings about certain things are alot easier than actually having to talk about them. Blogging is really fun and easy to do. It is like i'm almost a real reporter/writer on certain topics. Take video games for example, doing a review for a game(s) is like actually being a writer for nintendo, or even a report on news topics is like being a news reporter/writer. so blogging to me is kind of important it makes my thoughts and feelings about certain things come to life. Also i think in all honesty that writing a blog about certain topics is alot easier than writing a blog about blogging and is also easier than writing a report or even giving a speech. Writing blogs have given me the ability to speak my mind and i think that is pretty cool.
